One of the children Sunday said something hilarious. “I’m glad we didn’t have children’s church today, because it’s even worse.” Humored, I engaged him, “even worse, huh?” “Yes, because at children’s church I have to sit still and stuff. In here, we get to climb under the seats and move around!” I'm amused and I’d like to invite your musings. Stats show a large percentage of boys will not attend when they grow up. How could church be more fun? Or should it be? How can we hold two values in tension when it comes to kids, the values of holiness and hospitality? Where is the balance?
